Game that two can play.

This refers to “Vigilance files FIR in land case, VS among accused” (Jan.14).  Once a leading figure in the (CPI-M) and presently Leader of the Opposition V.S. Achuthanandan has been going through a bad patch with alleged land deal bypassing normal procedures.  Put two and two together the opposition Leader has a hand in it either directly or otherwise.  Why must he volunteer himself to resign if he has a genuine case to prove his innocence?  Does he think someone has trapped him into it out of malice?  If so, he is within his rights to seek justice that no sane person would deny rather than taking a hasty step to resign.  In fact he has played a game that two can play.

In this context what Pinarayi Vijayan has said that some of the members in the State Cabinet were facing similar cases has no logical connection between the two.  Two blacks do not make a white.
