In these days of criminal wave, any moratorium on capital punishment may be a disastrous step at a wrong time.  Admittedly, capital punishment is an uncivilized practice, but given the violent crimes and lawlessness, a moratorium on it is probably like rubbing salt into the wounds.  Any punishment that doesn't fit the crime is mockery of justice.  If a person violates the law, he is to be prosecuted to the fullest limits of the law, and there are absolutely no exceptions.  Of course, there are situations that need commonsense consideration.  In my considered opinion a moratorium on capital punishment at this time of criminal tendency among anti-social elements, it could be catastrophic  proposition
