Sweet Revenge.

The death of Al-Qaeda leader, Osama Bin Laden, in the hands of U.S. military comes as a sweet revenge to America in particular. The operation is meticulously planned by the CIA and Osama’s death would be a great blow to his organization. To Americcans it’s yet another Fourth of July to rejoice. A long wait after the 9/11 attacks, Osama had his luck reversed CIA in hot pursuit. You have to make retribution to God for your sins one day. That’s what exactly happened to Osama. He is a traitor to himself with no compunction. Why should anyone pity him, he can stew in his own juice for a bit. Meanwhile it’s enigmatic how Osama managed to get a safe haven for so long right under the very nose of Pakistan authorities.

Would Lokpal bill be a sovereign remedy?

Amma Hazare’s fast as an ultimate weapon against corruption that goes left, right and centre of the country reflects great credit to his noble cause. No doubt corruption is rampant and it stinks of shame to a nation that claims to be the descendants of the Father of our independence. Empty rhetoric of politicians who often betray their principles to any length, be it fair or foul, to achieve their aim. The DMK Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi and former Chief Minister Jayalalitha are no exceptions given the freebies and other inducements they have offered to the voters. In my considered opinion it’s little short of naked corruption. I am glad the editorial has rightly exposed it unequivocally.
Corruption is a force of habit and to get rid of it from one’s blood is a question of mind over matter. It takes character for one to be honest. However, I am optimistic of Anna Hazare’s bold move to have given a kick-off in this direction for the first time. Should he succeed it’s a victory for common sense.

Sri Sathya Sai baba

With the passing of Sri Sathya Sai baba, we are minus a great soul today. He devoted his entire life for the disadvanged sections of community regardless of caste, creed and religion which he did at some sacrifices to himself. He could disprove what is said to be a timeless saying “charity begins at home” through his selfless concern for others. While such great men are countable on fingers these days, Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s demise has been an irretrievable loss to the world over. He provided a safety net to all those who needed it in times of adversity to wipe off their tears as much as he could. Although his flesh is not with us,I am sure, his spirit will stay with us for ever. I join with all other mourners to say “May his soul rest in peace”.
